On January 14, former Marine Captain and IAVA Senior Membership Associate Timothy Kudo appeared on CBS "This Morning" and spoke about a Youtube video that showed four Marines urinating on the bodies of three dead Taliban fighters.
"Every Marine was absolutely shocked by what happened," Kudo said. "Nobody would have expected something like this, not just from a unit, but any Marine in general. These actions are completely outside the norm..."
On November 11, hundreds of IAVA Member Veterans marched in the 2011 Veterans Day Parade in New York City. Other veterans marched throughout the country.
On October 27, jcpenney threw a flash mob fashion show featuring IAVA Member Veteran and Staff Member Matt Colvin. A veteran of the Air Force, Colvin admitted to being a little nervous before taking the stage. Read ABC's article on the fashion show.

IAVA Member Veteran Jonathan Raab joined Last Call with Lawrence O'Donnell to discuss veteran unemployment. One of the main topics of discussion was Jonathan's recent New York Timespiece highlighting his own experiences with job struggles as a veteran. This fall, Jonathan will redeploy to Afghanistan.

On Monday, July 25th, IAVA protested a change in the New GI Bill which would exclude hundreds of veterans from getting reimbursed for going to school. The change would exclude students who had begun school in the winter and spring of 2011.
