ICYMI: IAVA’s CAMPAIGN TO #PAYTHEMBACK FEATURED ON NBC NIGHTLY NEWS

NEW YORK, NY (October 26, 2016) — Last night, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) Founder and CEO, Paul Rieckhoff, raised his voice on behalf of the 2.8 million Post-9/11 generation combat veterans who are outraged by injustice California. IAVA launched its campaign to #PayThemBack in response to the news that thousands of California National Guardsmen were being forced to pay back bonuses they were promised when they committed to step up in a time of war.

In the interview Rieckhoff made a salient point that all our leadership in Washington should consider: “If our government can bail out banks…it seems mind boggling that they can’t bail out our servicemembers that put their life on the line in the service of our country.”
