Omar Lebron was born and raised in East Harlem and the Bronx in NYC. He has a distinguished military background retiring with almost 20 years of service in the U.S. Army, having deployed to Kosovo in support of the United Nations mission in 1999-2000 and to Iraq twice in 2003 and again in 2009-2010. He is a full-time student and senior at Fordham University. Omar is currently interning with an NGO in partnership with the United Nations as an additional representative on the UN mission to eradicate poverty by the year 2030. Omar has been a member of IAVA since September 2016 and has volunteered to support several events in the past few months. He is currently engaging the Yonkers and Westchester County community, helping to bring awareness and voice to the IAVA veteran and volunteer population.
