Depression

One day you’re feeling fine, the next day it feels like the bottom fell out. You might feel worthless, agitated, or irritable. You might not be able to concentrate or sleep well. Maybe you don’t have an appetite, and don’t want to go out anymore. Or you feel hopeless. You just don’t care about anything.
But you can just shake it off and toughen up, right? Not likely.
Many vets like you are dealing with the same confusion, the same suffering. It’s normal, and it can be eased. “The key to recovery is to be around other people who understand,” one vet says of his experience. He sought out other vets as soon as he returned home, and found comfort in their shared stories. Another vet put it more bluntly. “We all have that common bond. You’ve been through some pretty serious **** ”
You’re not alone in this fight. Check out the resources that are available to you, or connect with other veterans in our online community.
