Tragic Shootings at Fort Hood: IAVA Extends Thoughts and Prayers to Families and Friends of the Victims
Today, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), the nation’s first and largest nonprofit, nonpartisan organization for the veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, issued the following statement in response to the tragic shootings at Fort Hood Army base located in Killeen, Texas:
“Today is a day of mourning for all Americans. We extend our thoughts and prayers to the families and friends of those affected and offer our support in this difficult time,” said IAVA Executive Director Paul Rieckhoff. “IAVA is focused on providing whatever assistance possible to our members on the ground in Fort Hood who have been impacted by this great tragedy. Now more than ever, we need the country to unite behind our military personnel and their families.”
