Same name. Same town. Same age.
Posted by Paul Rieckhoff on May 11 2010

They had the same name, were the same age, and were from the same city. So why did one end up in the White House, and the other in jail?

This week, Afghanistan Veteran, Rhodes Scholar, former White House Fellow and IAVA Board Member Wes Moore released his much-anticipated debut book The Other Wes Moore, which tells the true story of two boys with the same name― and two dramatically different fates.

Starting today, Wes starts a cross-country book tour. Click here to watch a quick video about this incredible story, and check to see if there's a tour stop near you.

Wes' incredible memoir has received critical acclaim from everyone from former Secretary of Defense William Cohen to Oprah Winfrey. And his message - about the importance for our country's youth to be educated, empowered and committed to service - couldn't be more important. It's a message that IAVA and all vets can relate to and support.

Click here to watch a quick video and learn more about Wes' story.

A tireless advocate for our nation's veterans and youth, Wes is living proof that Iraq and Afghanistan veterans are the leaders of tomorrow. IAVA is proud to support him on his journey across the country these next few weeks.

I hope that you will join us on the road.
