The Rucksack Round-up: Exclusive Rewards for Vets
Posted by Christina Kim on February 17

It's 2012 and The Rucksack hasn't let up steam - from free suits to the Super Bowl, take a look at what's happening now:

  • Gift certificates from IAVA and jcpenney

If you were one of the lucky IAVA member veterans who won your $200 “Welcome Heroes” certificates from IAVA and jcpenney, make sure to run over to jcpenney and redeem your certificates as soon as you can. The certificates will expire Tuesday, January 31. If you’ve already used your certificates, make sure to email us and tell us how you’re going to use your new clothes and to send us a photo of you in your new merch. You and your story may end up in a featured blog post on IAVA.org! Email us your story and feedback at rucksack[at]iava[dot]org and we’ll be in touch!

  • Act of Valor Screenings

We’re also hooking up IAVA members with tickets for early screenings across the country to one of spring’s hottest movies -- Act of Valor. The movie follows a Navy SEAL squad on a cover mission to recover a kidnapped CIA agent, and in the process, takes down a complex web of terrorist cells determined to strike America at all costs. The film’s been garnering a lot of buzz and features high-octane combat sequences and never-before-seen military operation scenes inspired by actual events! IAVA vets in Los Angeles, CA; Indianapolis, IN; and New York, NY will all have the opportunity to see the film before its theatrical release. Make sure to keep checking back at the Rucksack to see if we’re coming to a city near you!

  • IAVA at the Super Bowl

Join IAVA in Indianapolis this weekend as we gear up for one of sports’ biggest games of the year: Super Bowl XLVI! Through the generosity of Maxim Magazine and the Graffiti of War Project, IAVA is hooking up 9 lucky member veterans with passes to attend one of the weekend’s hottest and most exclusive parties. This event is open to 21+ only, but make sure to head over to The Rucksack today to submit your request. You only have until 6pm EST, Tuesday, January 31, 2012 so make sure you don’t miss out and request your ticket today!

Get Involved

In just the last year, IAVA has connected hundreds of veterans with employers through innovative career fairs, helped over 10,000 veterans go to college on the New GI Bill, and provided mental health support to over 50,000 veterans—all at no cost to Member Veterans. Programs like these are only made possible through your generous support. Fight for those who fought for us and help us keep these resources and benefits completely free for new veterans and their families. DONATE >>

Not an IAVA member yet? What are you waiting for?! IAVA Member Veterans get access to exclusive career fairs, events and tickets. Join up today--membership is free and all you have to do is submit proof of OIF/OND/OEF status.
