Summer’s in full swing and IAVA’s got events, resources and more around the country for IAVA member veterans. Be sure to see what we’ve got going on and head over to The Rucksack today!
Connecting Veterans with Combat-Related Special Compensation (CRSC) Resources:
In partnership with the National Veterans Legal Services Program (NVLSP), IAVA is connecting member veterans to NVLSP to obtain Combat-Related Special Compensation (CRSC). Congress created this new benefit in 2008 to provide certain veterans who suffer from combat-related disabilities with hundreds of dollars per month in additional tax-free compensation and supplemental compensation to what they are already receiving from the VA or the military. To find out more and to apply for free legal assistance on CRSC, please visit the Rucksack page and submit your request for more information today.
Lincoln Center & IAVA Kick Off New Partnership with Two Events in New York City:
In case you missed it last week, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and IAVA launched an innovative new partnership that will connect veterans with job opportunities, tickets to Lincoln Center events, and much more. To kick off our groundbreaking partnership, Lincoln Center opened up its doors to one of its most popular summertime events, Midsummer Night Swing, where veterans and their guests were treated to a VIP tent with free food and drink -- plus plenty of dancing. Make sure to check out our success story recapping the event and to check out the photos! A few days later, IAVA members and their guests were treated to a free “date night” to watch the Paris Opera Ballet perform one of ballet’s most loved productions of “Giselle.” Be sure to check out the recap of that event. Make sure you don’t miss out and be sure to check back at The Rucksack to see when we have more Lincoln Center ticket opportunities!
IAVA’s Employment Support Programs Head to California:
As we continue to connect veterans with different employment support programs and opportunities around the country, we’re going to be in southern California to connect veterans with interview skills training and resume reviews with one of the world’s leading financial services companies. PIMCO is a global investment solutions provider with more than 2,000 dedicated professionals in 12 countries and $1.77 trillion in assets. IAVA member veterans have the opportunity to sign up for this unique and exclusive opportunity to get connected to career transition resources and to network with PIMCO employees and other veterans. Make sure you sign up today to reserve your spot!
Miller High Life -- Making Summer all about the High Life!:
Through the third year of IAVA’s partnership with Miller High Life to "Give a Veteran a Piece of the High Life,” we've given 600 of our members a chance to attend Summerfest in Wisconsin (one of the biggest music festivals in the country), seen vets swing for the fences as part of the College World Series Home Run Derby in Omaha. And we're just getting started. In the coming weeks, we'll host our members at events big and small around the country, including a race at the Saratoga Race Track in New York and taking 750 members out to the ballgame in Washington, DC, for a pre-party tailgate before catching the Washington Nationals take on the Philadelphia Phillies. Check out some of our biggest upcoming events below and make sure you head over to The Rucksack to see what other events we have and request your tickets today!
