We’re back! Just as the weather is warming up, so are our new rewards in The Rucksack. Make sure to check them out and submit your requests today so that you don’t miss out!
BT Job Shadowing Program:
As the veteran unemployment rate remains consistently higher than that of the civilian rate, we’re teaming up with BT (British Telecom) to sponsor a series of “Military to Civilian Career Readiness Workshops” around the country. These one-day events are the perfect opportunity for IAVA member vets with professional or military backgrounds in IT, telecommunications and computing to shadow BT employees, learn about their daily work, and get the insider’s take on opportunities in the industry! We'll be in Dallas, TX on May 9; For all other cities, events will be held on May 16, 2012:
Focus Group with IAVA in NYC:
We’re also looking for a dynamic group of vets to visit our New York City office to participate in a focus group! We’re getting to launch a dynamic new program that will help veterans as they transition out of the military and into civilian careers -- and we want your feedback! We’ll provide pizza and beverages, too. Spaces are limited, so make sure to request your spot today at The Rucksack.
Get Involved
In just the last year, IAVA has connected hundreds of veterans with employers through innovative career fairs, helped over 10,000 veterans go to college on the New GI Bill, and provided mental health support to over 50,000 veterans—all at no cost to Member Veterans. Programs like these are only made possible through your generous support. Fight for those who fought for us and help us keep these resources and benefits completely free for new veterans and their families. DONATE >>
