O.A.R. Wants You to Sign the Pledge
Posted by Meghan on October 9

Do you think a song can change our country?

With your help, it can.

IAVA is teaming up with rock band O.A.R. on a new campaign: Open Up Your Arms. The campaign is anchored by a pledge all Americans can take to support our nation's troops and veterans at www.OpenUpYourArms.org.

We know you're already committed to our nation's veterans, but this is a great way for new people to get introduced to our issues, to get involved, and to hear some good music. Plus, everyone who signs the pledge has the chance to win amazing prizes, including limited-edition t-shirts and backstage passes to O.A.R. concerts.

We need your help spreading the word about the pledge. Click here to watch a quick intro video from Marc and Benj of O.A.R. and then share the campaign via Twitter, Facebook or email.

O.A.R. has been on the ground in Iraq with the USO, and shown a real commitment to giving back to the people who have bravely served our country. IAVA is proud to be partnering with these great guys and talented musicians. And in the coming weeks, we'll be adding exclusive content to www.OpenUpYourArms.org, including a music video for "War Song"- a song inspired by O.A.R.'s experiences visiting Iraq.

Watch a quick video the band made about the campaign, and then take a minute to spread the word about the pledge. Post about it on Twitter or Facebook and O.A.R. might give you a shout-out from the stage at their next tour stop.

Help us reach our goal of 11,111 signatures by November 11th - Veterans Day. With every name added to the pledge, you're helping us grow a movement that honors and supports our men and women in uniform.

Yesterday, on the eighth anniversary of the war in Afghanistan, we reflected on the sacrifices made by troops and their families. Today, we hope you'll stand with us, and get every American to pledge support to our newest generation of heroes.
