Posted by Michelle McCarthy on January 28
Today, IAVA's Director of Government Affairs, Todd Bowers, presented IAVA's 2009 Legislative Agenda to Congress in testimony before the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee.

The priorities within IAVA's 2009 legislative agenda address the most critical issues facing our newest generation of veterans, including:
- Ensuring better screening for invisible injuries such as PTSD and TBI
- Providing advance funding for veterans’ health care
- Ending the passive culture within the VA
- Prioritizing veterans in the stimulus package
- Ensuring correct implementation of the new GI Bill

Following his testimony, Todd will lead a delegation of veterans from across the country to Washington, D.C. next week to discuss IAVA's legislative priorities with over 125 national lawmakers as part of IAVA's fourth annual Storm the Hill campaign. But they need your support to make sure Congress hears them.
