IAVA in the City of Angels!
Posted by Christina Kim on April 25 2012

As we gear up for another huge summer, IAVA is rallying our membership on the west coast this week and we want to make sure you’re getting the inside scoop on how to get connected with us!

Heroes Celebration. Tuesday, May 1st. We’ll be honoring two huge supporters for this generation of veterans at our Fourth Annual Heroes Celebration: National Veterans Foundation Founder and Vietnam Veteran Shad Meshad and actress Minka Kelly for her support of our troops through the USO. Purchase tickets for the event and join veterans from SoCal at the celebration as we honor all 2.4 million veterans who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan since 9/11.

CSUN Resource Fair. Tuesday, May 1st. If you’re a vet in the Los Angeles-area, we also hope you’ll be able to join us for a veterans resource fair at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) on Tuesday, May 1. Be sure to sign up to attend and link up with IAVA and other VSOs and get connected to transition resources for employment, education, mental health, and more. Sign-up and find out more information about the event.

Chamber Jobs Panel. Wednesday, May 2nd. IAVA Founder and Executive Director Paul Rieckhoff joins the West Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce for a special panel conversation and breakfast about the unique challenges facing the 2.4 million veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan. To join IAVA at the breakfast, click here.

Operation Mend (UCLA). Thursday, May 3rd. We’ll be hosting an exclusive event with UCLA's Operation Mend on Thursday, May 3, 2012, featuring IAVA’s Founder and Executive Director Paul Rieckhoff in conversation with Operation Mend and special guests. You’ll have the opportunity to Q&A and to network with other veterans and supporters. This event is open to IAVA member veterans, families, and supporters, so make sure you sign up today to reserve your spot! Additional event details are also listed on the sign-up page.

Get Involved

In just the last year, IAVA has connected hundreds of veterans with employers through innovative career fairs, helped over 10,000 veterans go to college on the New GI Bill, and provided mental health support to over 50,000 veterans—all at no cost to Member Veterans. Programs like these are only made possible through your generous support. Fight for those who fought for us and help us keep these resources and benefits completely free for new veterans and their families. DONATE >>

Not an IAVA member yet? What are you waiting for?! IAVA Member Veterans get access to exclusive career fairs, events and tickets. Join up today--membership is free and all you have to do is submit proof of OIF/OND/OEF status.
