Don't Make Our Troops Pay for BP's Mess

BP made a massive mess. And because of a bureaucratic loophole, many National Guard members are paying the price.
Nearly 1,500 men and women in uniform have deployed to help clean up the oil spill so far, and thousands more could follow. But while serving their country, they're being shortchanged. For many, the time they're serving won't count towards their educational benefits.
There's a bill working its way through Congress that would ensure National Guard members responding to the oil spill - and future disasters - get the benefits they've earned.
Add your name to the open letter and demand that Congress pass S.3447 immediately.
Time is running out - we must act now before Congress heads out of town on summer vacation.
Sign the open letter and make sure our troops aren't left stuck in the muck, without a diploma.
