Vets: Volunteer with Team Rubicon to help in aftermath of Sandy

Team Rubicon has activated teams to do Hurricane Sandy clean-up in the New York City area, and they need your help. Today through Sunday (and maybe beyond), Team Rubicon will be deploying teams of new vets throughout the tri-state area to support clean-up and rescue missions. Typical duties will include: debris removal, assisting people that have had their houses damaged, assisting NYC manage shelters for displaced residents, working in the OEM command center, and mucking out basements.

GI Bill Backlog Worse than Ever

 You would think that after four school years of handling the Post-9/11 GI Bill, the VA would have worked out the kinks to processing a benefits claim. Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened. According to Stars and Stripes’ Leo Shane, the GI Bill backlog is not only huge, it’s worse than ever.
