More than 2.4 million Americans from every state and every Congressional district have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. And after ten years of war, veterans and their families need and deserve support from any and all political candidates. No matter what party they come from or what community they represent, every candidate has a responsibility to ensure that veterans issues are a top platform priority. We expect more than lip service. We expect real solutions and a solid commitment.

For-Profit Higher Education: Recruitment Trumps Retention

With a still struggling economy and a persistently high unemployment rate, the value of a college degree and what it represents are more critical than ever. Fortunately for veterans, the Post-9/11 G.I. Bill is a game-changing benefit, allowing them to earn a degree that will in turn improve their chances of securing employment and more, importantly, a career. In March 2012, the VA reported that since the bill’s passage in 2008, more than 702,576 individuals have received approximately $17.24 billion in benefit payments.
