JCPENNEY and IAVA honor over 6,000 returning vets with new apparel

J. C. Penney Company, Inc. (NYSE: JCP) and Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), the nation’s first and largest nonprofit, nonpartisan organization for veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, are joining forces to provide America’s newest generation of military veterans with more than $1 million in apparel and footwear to start new civilian wardrobes.

Fighting Military Suicide, One Community at a Time

Today, just a few days after the tenth anniversary of the war in Afghanistan, the Army released its September suicide numbers. There were 22 potential suicides – 16 by active duty soldiers and 6 by non-activated reserve component soldiers. These numbers are lower than the 29 potential suicides reported in August.
