Last night, the Senate approved the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Bill (H.R. 2055) in a biparstian vote 97-2.  It’s likely to be the only appropriations bill passed this year and it will provide critical funds for VA Health Care for Fiscal Years 2012 and 2013.

Church Bells Sing Suicide
Posted by Garrett Anderson on July 20 2011

The songbird singing on my windowsill will come and pass to be replaced by another and I will never notice. Corporal Hunt killed himself weeks ago in his Texas apartment.

Member Vets come together for Mayhem Concert
Posted by Bobby Yen on July 20 2011

Bobby Yen volunteered to run a booth at the local Mayhem concert in San Bernardino, California. He wrote to us about his experience meeting other veterans at the event. So my girlfriend and I got to the site, we set up shop and prepared for the rush of veterans.  I was shocked with the response to say the least.  Given such a small percentage of the population has served over in Iraq or Afghanistan, we met a whole lot of them at the festival.
