Hollywood Honors Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans at Second Annual Heroes Celebration

On Thursday, Cameron Diaz, Norman Lear, Ron Meyer and Nick Styne hosted the Second Annual Heroes Celebration, a reception to salute our newest generation of veterans and their families and to celebrate the achievements of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America. Do you want to hear some great music, meet a few stars, and support IAVA at the same time? This Friday night, Queen V is performing at The Viper Room in West Hollywood, along with some very special guests - including Super Bowl Champion Steelers Coach Bill Cowher and the one and only Snoop Dogg. Tickets are only $10, and all proceeds benefit IAVA.

Wes Moore, Afghanistan Veteran, Inspirational Leader and IAVA Board Member Releases Critically Acclaimed Book

Today, IAVA announced the publication of “The Other Wes Moore,” a much-anticipated debut book written by IAVA Board Member Wes Moore. “The Other Wes Moore” is the true story of two boys with the same name―one becomes the first African-American Rhodes Scholar ever from Johns Hopkins University while the other serves a life sentence in prison. Tune in a 4 p.m. EST today to watch Wes discuss his debut book on “The Oprah Winfrey Show.”

Honoring #42 from Chicago to Kabul

19 of us turned out in Philadelphia. 26 in Austin. 185 in Tempe. And dozens as far away as Camp Eggers in Afghanistan. Together, we ran over 1,600 miles to honor former NFL player Pat Tillman's legacy of courage and sacrifice.
