The government and private sectors have both worked to change this reality, offering hope that the situation will improve in the coming years.

Did you know that America has hosted a ticker-tape parade at the end of every war in the last century? We’ve even had parades for baseball player Sammy Sosa and the President of Indonesia. If our nation can honor them, they can honor the veterans of our nation’s longest wars. And when Afghanistan ends in 2013, we’ll do it again.

St. Louis Welcomes Home IAVA Heroes

On January 28th, IAVA members came from as far away as Montana to march in St. Louis for the Welcome Home the Heroes Parade to honor veterans of Iraq. IAVA local leader Angela Peacock led our element of 30 IAVA members from all over the region.
