Denzel Washington Tours Veteran Hospitals
Posted by General on November 30 1999

Denzel makes a donation to the Fisher House Foundation.
Denzel Washington toured the BAMC (Brookes Army Medical Center) in San Antonio. Texas. During his tour. he visited the medical center as well as nearby accomodations for the families of wounded veterans. These accomodations. called Fisher Houses. often charge soldiers' families little to nothing for their stay and are usually overpacked and filled to the brim as a result.

Washington made a donation to the Fisher House Foundation in a sincere effort to support the Troops.  Although there is some debate over the size and manner of the donation. Washington's sympathy for the families of wounded veterans created a lot of media hype around veteran accomodations. which are in dire need of more funding.
